Biography
Carina Dawn is a Canadian artist whose practice centers on symbolic painting and the exploration of states of consciousness, energy, and perception. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she uses archetypal imagery, symbolism, and geometry to create works that exist between the familiar and the unknown.
Carina began dedicating herself fully to painting in 2015, establishing a sustained studio practice and developing a significant body of work. Initially recognized for her acrylic and resin paintings, her practice has since expanded into oil painting, broadening the visual language through which she approaches her work.
Her career has extended beyond the studio through photography, design, art curation, and entrepreneurship. She founded and operated an online gallery representing artists internationally, gaining experience across multiple facets of the art world.
Today, Dawn's artistic practice is her main focus. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries and acquired by collectors throughout Canada and the United States, with works held in private collections.
The Process
Each painting begins intuitively, with an idea or feeling that takes shape through sketches and exploration before being translated onto canvas. Working with professional oil paints and carefully selected materials, every piece is approached with intention, precision, and a commitment to craftsmanship - bringing the original impulse into its final form.
